MUSCAT: Omani teen Na’am bint Zahran Al-Harrasia from South Al Batinah Education, was awarded ‘Youth Intellectual Property Ambassador’ in the Sultanate of Oman by the WIPO Academy.
The 14-year-old student was bestowed with this title after she invented a type of bioplastic using natural elements such as rice water and fish scales.
This invention will aid in saving the oceans from plastic pollution. Inventions like these can contribute to combating challenges arising from ban on single-use plastics around the world, including in the Sultanate of Oman.
