MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on Monday appointed Maitha Saif Majid Al Mahrouqi as the new Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Since 2011, Maitha Al Mahrouqi has been serving as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. An Oxford University graduate, Maitha held numerous other positions such as Country Manager Oman of Oman Air, and managerial positions for Gulf Air and Emirates Airlines.
Meanwhile, His Excellency Salim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism thanked Maitha for her contributions to the tourism sector in the country. “On behalf of all the Ministry’s employees, I would like to thank Her Excellency Maitha Al Mahrouqi for hher contributions and services. I would also like to welcome His Excellency Azzan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism. We are looking forward to a busy phase of work to build the tourism sector as one of the pillars of diversity and prosperity,” he added.
