MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health commemorated 50 years of Al Nahdha Hospital being operational. The celebration witnessed massive presence of the administrative members and number of doctors, consultants, nursing staff as well as the hospital’s health workers.
The celebration began with the address of Director-General of Khaoula Hospital and Chairperson of Al Nahdha Hospital Board, Dr Mazin Al Kyabouri. He expressed his honour for being a part of the hospital staff and launched his career from the very same hospital in 1981.
Al Khabouri then referred to the progress achieved over the years in the hospital’s departments particularly those made in the nose, ear and throat department that aligns with the medical advancement worldwide.

The Director-General of Khaoula Hospital also pointed out to Nahdha Hospital’s key goals over the past years regarding the development of its health cadres which influences the development of the whole sector.
Al Nahdha Hospital Director Dr Hamed Al Harthi reviewed in his word the progress of the hospital since the opening, in addition to the current services for clients and its role amid COVID-19 pandemic and other educational roles.
At the end, Dr Mazin Al Khabouri honoured number of senior health workers who contributions were tangible in accelerating health progress of Al Nahdha Hospital.
Al Nahdha Hospital has seen a qualitative and quantitative leap in the provision of specialised high-tech health care since its establishment in 1972. It has expanded in a number of specialised clinics such as accident and emergency medicine, rehabilitation and physiotherapy services. Moreover, the hospital includes a one-day surgery ward and modern operating rooms.
Al Nahdha Hospital also provides secondary health care for the residents of Muscat Governorate in various specialities in addition to the internal medicine and paediatric services.
Furthermore, the hospital is a teaching hospital that carries out educational and academic roles. Taking into consideration the significance of continuing education, it conducts several courses, workshops and conferences at the local and International levels. Lastly, the hospital doctors also participate in research done at local and international symposiums and conferences.
