MUSCAT: Oman’s public revenue has increased until the end of 2021 by 28.71 per cent compared to the revenues of 2020, the country’s Minister of Economy said on Sunday.
Addressing the Majlis Al Shura, His Excellency Dr. Said Al Saqri said the increase in public revenues is due to the rise in oil prices. The Minister also informed that the GDP grew by 12.7%, in 2021, while the oil-sector related activities grew by 26.5%, and the manufacturing sector grew by 25.8%. “The National Centre for Statistics and Information indicates an improvement in the performance of all sectors without exception,” Al Saqri noted.
“I am often asked who is responsible for the economy? Yes, it is the government but every one of us plays an important role in the economy too,” he said.
