MUSCAT: Nearly 50,000 visitors are expected to visit Muscat International Book Fair that will be held from February 24 to March 5 at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
However, pre-registration will be made mandatory to visit the fair and a special schedule will be set for school students.
Addressing the media, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harassi, Minister of Information and chairman of the Main Committee of the Muscat International Book Fair said the exhibition will be held with the participation of 27 countries. His Highness Sayyid Theyazin Bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth will inaugurate the 26th edition.

Meanwhile, Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth said the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah is the guest of honor at the Muscat International Book Fair. “114 various cultural events will be held in the exhibition, with the participation of 27 countries, and the number of publishing houses amounting to 715 and about 361,000 titles,” he said.
