Oman’s ICT infrastructure equipped to adopt new technologies

MUSCAT: The ‘COVID-19 Pandemic and Future of Technology’ study by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that the current ICT infrastructure in the Sultanate of Oman is capable of accommodating new technologies in specific fields.

The study showed that digital transformation can be taken advantage of as an opportunity to restructure the market in specific areas, and to develop an effective regulatory and administrative framework in order to accelerate economic diversification programs.

The study emphasised the importance of adopting the techniques of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in programs to increase the total added value of the sectors that depend on economic diversification, and keenness to increase their contributions to the gross domestic product.

The study dealt with the quick technical solutions used by the Sultanate of Oman to the challenges it faced during the pandemic period.
