10 projects selected for architectural award in Oman

The winner will receive OMR 20,000, second place will receive OMR 15,000 and the third prize will be OMR 10,000.

MUSCAT: Ten projects qualified for the final stage of the Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design. The selected projects varied from architectural monuments to models and buildings inspired by the Omani culture, in addition to commercial facilities.

The Bilarab bin Haitham Award aims to be a local competition but with a global vision for design and innovation in the field of architecture which will be held annually. The idea behind this competition is to attract original and futuristic designs from different parts of the country.

The winner will receive OMR 20,000, second place will receive OMR 15,000 and the third prize will be OMR 10,000. Seven finalists will receives prizes in kind.

The award aligns well with the visions and aspirations of the ambitious Oman Vision 2040 which aims at developing various regions architecturally, keeping in mind the regional environment and retaining the identity of the natives inhabiting in these regions.
