MUSCAT: One person died and several people were rescued following rainfall in Muscat Governorate on Monday.
In a statement issued Royal Oman Police said an expatriate died in Jibroo in Muttrah area after he was stuck inside his vehicle due to heavy rain. “One person was rescued but the other person was suffering from shortness of breath inside his vehicle. He died shortly after being rescued due to poor health,” ROP said.
Meanwhile, three expatriates were rescued after they were stuck inside their vehicle in a wadi in South Al Ghubrah area. The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority also rescued two Omani citizens after they were stuck inside the vehicle in Al Ghubrah.

People were also rescued after water entered their houses in Wilayat of Muttrah.
CDAA said it dealt with 20 reports about stranded vehicles on Monday morning, while 30 people have been rescued.
Muscat witnessed rainfall “varying intensity”with the flow of wadis. ROP has advised motorists to apply caution.
