MUSCAT: Oman’s e-commerce sector is witnessing a rapid growth due to increasing consumption rate supported by rising digital connectivity, according to a new report by American-based Market Watch revealed.
The implementation of 4G and 5G technology for connectivity purpose is increasing the exposure of online shopping for customers. “Therefore technological awareness among customers is expected to have a significant impact on market growth,” the report said.
“Moreover, the growing GDP of this country will drive the primary growth of this market,” the report said.
The report examined the dynamic changes in the e-commerce market and presented a regional overview of the sector, evaluating its growth and future opportunities.

According to the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total mobile subscriptions in Oman has reached more than 6.6 million.
