MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman today marked the World Radio Day, which falls on 13 February each year. This year’s anniversary is themed, “Radio and Trust”.
Member states of the UNESCO in 2011 declared 13 February every year as the World Radio Day. The proposition was approved by the UN General Assembly in 2012.
The UNESCO adopted three main approaches in this regard, namely trust in radio press, easing access to audiences and ensuring competitiveness.

Moreover, public and private radios in Oman (in Arabic and other languages) reached 15 radio stations operating compatibly with modern needs.
