MUSCAT: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan on Friday patronized the official opening ceremony of Port of Duqm in the presence of King Phillippe Leopold Louis Marie and his wife Queen Mathilde Marie Christine Ghislaine d’Udekem d’Acoz.
The monarchs of Belgium arrived in Oman on an official three-day visit.
The opening ceremony included organizing an air tour for the King and Queen to see the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, the area designated for green electricity generation and hydrogen, and a visual presentation on the partnership between the Port of Duqm and the Belgian Port of Antwerp, as well as organizing a cruise around a number of port facilities.
