MUSCAT: Qatari rider Nasser Al-Attiyah achieved first place at the exhibition stage of Oman Rally Sohar International, the first round of the Middle East Rally Championship.
Omani rally driver Hamed Al-Wahaibi kickstarted his challenge for victory by recording the second quickest time at the Oman Rally Sohar International on Thursday afternoon. His fellow rider Abdullah Al-Rawahi arrived third.
The bulk of the competitive action takes place over 12 timed special stages on Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28, before the ceremonial finish and post-event press conference.
