MUSCAT : Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has received the ‘Accredited Retail Airline’ classification under the International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s Retail Eligibility Index.
This certification has confirmed that Oman Air harnesses the shopping and demand capabilities compliant with the Standard Enhanced and Simplified Distribution Capacity Scheme, Version 18.2 and the Retail Merit Index Capabilities Verification Guidelines.
Umesh Shaiber, Senior Vice President of Revenue Improvement, Pricing and Distribution at Oman Air, said that achieving this classification is an important milestone for the company as it has now joined the leading limited airlines that obtained this certificate, as the retail factor in airlines constituted one of the biggest factors that limited the prosperity of the industry in Oman in the last few years.
