MUSCAT: The 26th Assarain Golf Classic, one of the most prestigious golf tournaments of the Sultanate, will take place at Ghala Golf Club on January 21 and 22.

According to a press statement issued by the organisers, the Assarain Golf Classic, sponsored by Assarain Group of Companies, is a premium golfing event that gives amateur golfers the opportunity to participate in a professional tournament that meets international golfing standards. Ibrahim Al Wahaibi, Director, Assarain Group of Companies and the pioneer of the Assarain Golf Classic, said, “We support golf and are committed to helping the game flourish in Oman. It is unfortunate that we could not conduct the tournament in the years 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. We look forward to the 2022 edition of the Assarain Golf Classic and are confident that it will exceed all expectations.”

The 36-hole completion is one of the largest golf tournaments in the region and is open to all players with a verifiable handicap. Another not-to-be-missed attraction will be the colourful presentation ceremony planned for 22 January to felicitate the winners of different categories.
