MUSCAT: His Excellency Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Iranian Foreign Minister affirmed that his visit to the Sultanate of Oman came within the framework of the government’s policy of strengthening and consolidating relations with neighbouring countries.
Referring to his talks he held on bilateral relations and regional and international issues in the Sultanate of Oman, Amir Abdollahian said in a press statement published by the Iranian news agency IRNA, “That bilateral political cooperation and consultation on some common issues were among our talks, as for In the economic field, they discussed resuming the movement of commercial boats for the two countries during coronavirus, as the Omani side promised to follow up on the issue so that in the near future we can witness the resumption of the movement of the two countries’ boats to exchange goods between them.”
He added, “We also discussed joint investments in some projects inside Iran in various fields, including investment in Chabahar port (southeast) in the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as discussing the issue of resuming flights by Iran Air and Oman Air for nationals of the two countries working in commercial affairs. and popular activities, where it was agreed to take the necessary measures for this matter.”

Amir Abdollahian said, “We also discussed regional issues about developments in Yemen, Afghanistan and Palestine, as we had extensive talks at the international level due to the Vienna negotiations for the abolition of the embargo.”
He pointed out that the Omanis played the role in the past in order for the negotiations to bear fruit within the framework of the nuclear agreement, as well as in the relationship with some Western parties, adding: The Omanis still have sincere intentions for these negotiations to reach a good and lasting result, and are making their diplomatic efforts to support the negotiating table to reach an agreement.
It is noteworthy that His Excellency Dr. Amir Abdullahian, Iranian Foreign Minister, arrived in the country on Monday morning on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
