MUSCAT: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has issued a clarification regarding vaccination after a woman on social media questioned the expiry date of the booster dose vaccine she received on Sunday.
In a statement issued, MOH has confirmed that the woman received the dose that was not expired. “A women tweeted that she received the third dose of Covid vaccine and she discovered after receiving that it was expired. She also tweeted a picture that showed a date on the package that is 01/2022. We would that the expiry date is not the beginning of the month, but rather the end of the month. Therefore, the dose that the woman received was not expired,” MOH clarified.
“Some vaccines have their validity extended after production, based on the latest studies on stability and efficacy, and in coordination with manufacturers and regulatory authorities.
The Ministry welcomes all inquiries aimed at clarifying the facts and calls upon everyone to obtain the correct information from official sources,” MOH added.
