MUSCAT: Muscat Stock Exchange recorded the best annual performance in 2021, for the first time since 2013, as it closed at 4,129 points.
In a statement issued by Oman News Agency said the points increased by 470 (12.8%) compared to 3,658 closing at the end of 2020.
“This performance was supported by the positive economic indicators that were achieved during the year, most notably the rise in government revenues, the rise in oil prices, the improvement in the performance of most companies listed on the stock exchange, and the decline in economic pressures resulting from the outbreak of Covid-19 locally and globally,” the statement said.
