MUSCAT: Heavy rainfall ranging from 30-80 mm are expected to fall in many parts of Oman including Muscat in the coming hours.
“Heavy thundershowers rainfall amounts are expected to fall during the coming hours which can reach up to 30 – 80 mm over some areas. The thundershowers will be accompanied with fresh downdraft winds, hail precipitation and flow of some wadis (flash floods) over Governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, Al Dahirah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah Muscat, Al Dakhliya, North Al Sharqiya and South Al Sharqiya,” Oman Met said in a statement issued on Friday afternoon.
“The Civil Aviation Authority advises all to take precautions during rainfall and flash floods, check the sea state report before sailing and keep monitoring the weather bulletins,” the statement added.
