MUSCAT: North and South Al Batinah governorates will receive heavy rainfall that may range from 30 to 60 millimeters in some areas in the coming hours, Oman Met said on Thursday.

In a statement issued, Oman Met said: “Rainfall may range in abundance in some areas from 30 to 60 millimeters, accompanied by active winds and hail, with the descent of some valleys and reefs in the governorates of North Al Batinah and South Al Batinah.”

“Therefore, the Civil Aviation Authority calls on everyone to take precautions during thunderstorms, not to cross valleys, to avoid low places and not to go to the sea,” Oman Met informed.

“It is worth noting that this alert is valid from seven in the evening Thursday until 12am on Friday,” the statement added.
