MUSCAT: Females constitute 49.6% of the Omani population at the end of December 2020 to reach 1,357,405, according to the fifth edition of “Omani Women 2021” issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The report also indicated that the number of Omani female students in pre-school education reached 18,833 in the academic year 2020-2021 in kindergarten, compared to 32,884 female students in the 2016-2017 academic year.
In higher education, Omani females constituted 53.3% of the total admissions in the academic year 2020-21, a drop of 3.9% from 2015-2016, and the percentage of Omani females graduating from higher education institutions in the 2019-2020 academic year increased by 1.4%. percent compared to the 2015-2016 academic year.
