Oman reports 90 suspected cases of Omicron infection, says official

A total of 16 Omicron cases have been registered in the country so far.

MUSCAT: Oman has so far registered 16 new Omicron cases, while there are also 90 suspected cases, a top Ministry of Health official has informed.

Dr Saif Al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control at the Ministry of Health said: “There are 16 confirmed omicron cases and 90 suspected cases.”

More than 95,000 people have so far received the third dose. “It will give up to 75% protection against the new mutant,” Al Abri added.
