MUSCAT: Isuzu – the world’s Number One commercial truck brand – continues to consolidate its market-leading position in the Sultanate of Oman’s consumer goods distribution space.
The latest to patronize the best-selling truck brand is Al Zain Water Company, a newly established mineral water distribution firm based in Barka in South Al Governorate. A subsidiary of Sulaiman Nasser Sulaiman Al Rushaidi Est, Al Zain Water is preparing to expand its footprint to cover key markets across the country – a goal that necessitates effective, dependable and cost-competitive transport and distribution solutions.
Perfectly fitting the bill for the company are the latest offerings from Isuzu’s N and F series of trucks – transport vehicles that are immensely popular with business and fleet owners across Oman and around the world. In the light duty N-Series category, Al Zain Water has opted for Isuzu’s NPR 81H – one of the fastest-selling models. It has supplemented this selection with medium-duty F-Series trucks, specifically the 9-ton FSR 34 model and a superior 11-ton FVR 34 variant.

Workhorses in their own right, all three sets are 2022 models of Isuzu’s lineup, bristling with features and capabilities that underscore the brand’s enduring appeal. The NPR 81H, with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 6.5 tons, comes with a powerful turbocharged 4778cc engine capable of delivering 130 hp power and 38 kgm of torque. By comparison, the FSR 34 and FVR 34 models feature a powerful turbocharged 7790 cc engine, delivering 240 hp and 72 kgm of torque. The gross vehicle weight is 13.5 tons for the FSR 34 and 16 tons for the FVR 34. Standard across all model sets is a 6-speed gear box that ensures high-efficiency fuel consumption.

A key hallmark of the Isuzu brand’s overall durability is its outstanding axle capacity with high tensile steel frame. Additionally, the highly rigid cab with reinforced cabin doors and ELR-3-point system seatbelts enhance driver safety. Anti-lock brake systems (ABS) account for active safety, while multi-reflector halogen headlamps enhance the motoring experience for drivers.
At a handover ceremony hosted recently by OTE Group, exclusive distributors of Isuzu trucks in the Sultanate of Oman, Al Zain Water’s newly acquired transportation fleet made for a striking sight. Featuring closed metal bodies customized for water distribution, the trucks were emblazoned with the aesthetically-appealing brand colours of the mineral water label. Proudly receiving the keys to the fleet were Mr. Sulaiman Nasser Al Rushaidi and Mr. Dawood Sulaiman Nasser Sulaiman Al Rushaidi, Directors of Al Zain Water.
“Owning and operating an Isuzu truck translates into genuine, concrete value for businesses that depend on these creatively engineered vehicles for their cargo transportation requirements. Besides being durable, reliable and fuel-efficient, they are also backed by unmatched after-sales support provided by OTE Group through its countrywide network of workshops and parts outlets,” says Mr. Malay Saha, Vice-President, OTE Group.
