MUSCAT : Powered by a brilliant all-round display, Oman Stallions brushed aside Yalla Shabab by 79 runs in the Premier Division Match of Oman Cricket League at the Al Amerat ground on Saturday.
Put to bat first after loosing the toss, Oman Stallions scored 258 all out in 48.1 overs, thanks mainly to a brilliant innings by Rafi Ullah, who scored a blistering 70 off just 39 balls, with three boundaries and eight massive sixes. Akshaykumar Patel, who scored 66 runs off 42 balls with four boundaries and seven sixes, and Pratik Athavale with his 46 runs also contributed to the Oman Stallions tally.
Hassnain Ali from Yalla Shabab had a brilliant day with the ball for Yalla Shabab, picking up five wickets for 63 runs while Wasim Ali scalped three for 35.
In reply, Yalla Shabab never looked like getting to the target, and were bowled out for 179 in 35.3 overs. Wasim Ali shined with the bat this time, scoring a brilliant 74 off 73 balls, with six boundaries and three sixes. Mehran Khan took three wickets for 49 runs, while Karan Sonavane chipped in with 3 wickets for just one run off 2.3 overs.
