MUSCAT : In the recently held ISC Oman annual Tennis tournament Shantanu Sriram bagged a double crown winning the under 14 and under 16 categories.
In a thrilling final of the under 16 Shantanu defeated Advait Kappil 6-3, 7-6. Both players rallied well and showed very good skills. Shantanu took the 1st set easily and was leading in the second when Advait fought back to level at 4 all and finally Shantanu prevailed in the tiebreaker.
Both these youngsters locked horned yet again in the under 14 category. Shantanu played well to win the 1st set and Advait showed grit and determination to win the 2nd set and the super tie breaker saw a see-saw battle and finally Shantanu won. 6-1, 3-6, 10-7.
