MUSCAT : AVENIR 2021, the first global career guidance event is all set for an exciting and vibrant inaugural ceremony on the 20^th of October, 2021.

AVENIR has been showcased for the last three years by the Indian schools in Oman under the aegis of the Board of Directors of the Indian schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The event to be hosted by Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir this year has been ameliorated to a global level with a view to reach out to myriad students across the globe.

With the participation of umpteen number of universities and motivational speakers at the event, AVENIR 2021 holds promise for every participant to gather vital information that will assist him/her to create a secure professional life.

AVENIR 2021 holds significant prominence this year as it is for the very first time that we go GLOBAL and invite student participation not only from the local Indian schools in the Sultanate of Oman but also invite and anticipate the partaking of the students from the other school boards viz. CBSE chairman inaugurates Avenir 2021

The morning of the 20^th of October, 2021, saw the spectacular inaugural ceremony of Avenir 2021 a global career guidance event hosted virtually by Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, under the aegis of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Manoj Ahuja IAS, Chairman, CBSE, special guest Mr. Saurav Ganguly President-BCCI, Members of the Ministry Education, Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Sivakumar Manickam-Chairman, Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, Mr. Alkesh Joshi, Hon. President of Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir School Management Committee, Members of the BoD, Members of all School Management Committees across the Globe, Members of the Indian Embassy, Personnel of the CBSE, Principals and members of the fraternities of varied participating schools, special invitees and guests.

The programme commenced with the comperes extending a warm, heartfelt welcome to the august gathering and proceeded with the lighting of the auspicious lamp and the rendering of a prayer song to invoke the Almighty’s blessings.

A spectacular curtain raiser on modern Indian classical dance was presented by the students of ISWK with graceful movements accompanied by a fusion of Indian classical music and foot-tapping contemporary beats.

Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Ahuja IAS, Chairman, CBSE, addressed the gathering, motivating the students to make best use of the Avenir platform for relevant career-oriented information and hone their competencies for a bright and successful future.

Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, BoD expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the host school for organizing the much-sought after global career guidance event. He lauded the efforts of the ISWK team for having conceptualized and planned the execution of the most comprehensive educational program of such magnitude. He further added that the focus of Avenir 2021 is in line with Oman vision 2040 and congratulated ISWK for the venture.

”Avenir will take our students through the different domains of professions and businesses around the technology-driven world marked by rapid advances in automation and artificial intelligence. True to its name Avenir, which means ‘the future pathway’, this mega initiative of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, will equip our students with the much needed 21^st century skills that will prepare them to face the future challenges with confidence” Dr. Manickam said.

The honorary president of ISWK school management committee, Mr Alkesh Joshi graciously welcomed be Chief Guest Mr Manoj Ahuja Chairman CBSE, Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, BOD, other dignitaries, invitees, parents and students who were part of the inaugural ceremony.

He mentioned that the virtual platform on which the mega event is being conducted, facilitated the merging of several renowned motivational speakers and university representatives, from across the globe who would disseminate vital career-oriented information that would greatly benefit the student community. He highlighted the importance of technological advancements and its role in preparing the future workforce for new and relevant professions. 

The program was taken further by the Principal, Mr. D. N. Rao, who presented a panoramic overview of AVENIR 2021 while graciously acknowledging the presence of the Chief Guest and the other distinguished attendees. 

Next, Mrs. Rashmi Patankar Joshi, HOD of the Counseling Department enlightened the audience with the unique theme of AVENIR 2021- the nine Multiple Intelligences corresponding with the line of professions. 

The cultural segment of the program added to its grandeur by showcasing a melodious rendition of a song by the school choir, titled- “FLY YOUR WAY, CHOOLE AASMAN”, and a vibrant dance performance depicting the power of determination and unity in attaining goals.

The program was heightened by the surprise arrival of Mr. Saurav Ganguly President BCCI who addressed the gathering and in particular, the student community, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with commitment. In continuation, he exhorted all to be the best in the field of their choice as success comes to those talented people who make best of the opportunities that come their way.

The Avenir Jingle and website that were showcased, would provide pertinent information to the entire global school fraternity.

Gratitude was due for all who were part of the inaugural ceremony, and Mr. M P Vinoba, Senior Principal and Education Advisor, BoD, did the honors of proposing the vote of thanks. He lauded the ISWK team for seamlessly executing the event.
