MUSCAT : With Oman extending the travel suspension for passengers from India in the wake of rising coronavirus cases, the authorities will only lift the ban if the situation improves, The Arabian Stories (TAS) has learnt.
Speaking exclusively to TAS, a senior official at Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the travel suspension will be lifted at an appropriate time. The Supreme Committee on Tuesday extended the travel ban to India until further notice. “India has been reporting an increase in Covid cases over the last few weeks and this is a concern. Travel ban can be lifted only when the Covid situation improves in India and the same applies to other countries that are in the list. The Supreme Committee will take these decisions at an appropriate time,” the official added.
Apart from India as many as 16 countries are in the list including UK, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
