MUSCAT : Royal Oman Police on Friday said it followed the video clip published by Omani citizen Sultan bin Muhammad bin Saif Ambosaidi through his social media accounts claiming to be tortured in prison.
In a statement issued, ROP said the case addressed by the person “took place in accordance with the legal procedures.” Necessary measures will be taken to clarify the facts, ROP said on Friday.
ROP also welcomed him to hear directly, confirming that “all its procedures are in accordance with laws and regulations.”

Earlier, Oman’s Human Rights Commission (OHRC) said it closely following-up the case and will take necessary action in accordance with the law.
“The Oman Commission for Human Rights followed the video clip circulated in social media for an Omani citizen in which he says that he has been subjected to torture violations, and the commission will coordinate with the competent authorities to find the truth and take the necessary actions in accordance with the law,” the statement added.
