MUSCAT : 29 percent of Oman’s total population lives in Muscat Governorate and the priority of the government is to develop all governorates as part of the National Urban Development Strategy (NUDS), according to Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.
“We have to create a different culture to fulfil our ambitions. The Economic Vision strategy research has shown that 911,000 housing units will be required over the next 10 years,” said His Excellency Dr. Khalfan Al Shuaili in an interview with Oman TV.
Al Shuaili also urged expatriates living in Oman to invest in properties that will enable them to play an important role in economic development.
“The focus currently is on finding the best sites for investment while linking them to a network of essential services. We are also looking to sustainably revitalise and develop existing areas to enable them to play a role in economic development,” he said.
