Over 450 hotels in Oman have booked travellers for institutional quarantine

MUSCAT: More than 11,000 passengers who arrived in Oman so far have undergone institutional quarantine at various hotels set up across the country, a top official informed

Last month, the Supreme Committee imposed a mandatory institutional quarantine for all arriving passengers in the country in the wake of rising coronavirus cases.

His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Head of the Relief and Shelter Sector informed that 10 percent of the arrivals were Omanis.

Meanwhile a total of 482 hotels have booked travellers for institutional quarantine of which 200 hotels are from Muscat Governorate.
