MUSCAT: Muscat University has announced the resignation of Professor Yusra Mouzughi, Vice Chancellor and Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs from her post as of the end of March, the Board of Trustees said on Sunday.
“The Board has been overseeing the identification of a replacement for a Professor Mouzughi’s role as well as the smooth transition of all operations in the interim period,” statement from the Board said.
Speaking of her decision, Professor Mouzughi said: “It has been an enormous privilege as the first female Vice Chancellor in Oman to have had the opportunity to contribute to and lead the development of Muscat University over the past five years. I am delighted that I will be leaving it in good shape having set a solid foundation for this institution for the future.”

Professor Mouzughi will be taking up a role as President of a university in Bahrain.
