MUSCAT: Any commercial activity found violating the night closure decision imposed by the Supreme Committee in the wake of rising coronavirus cases could face hefty penalties and closure.
In a statement issued by the Muscat Municipality said commercial activities will be issued OMR 300 fine for violating the decision, while repeat offenders will be slapped with a fine of OMR 1,000 and cancellation of licence.
The Supreme Committee imposed a nationwide night closure of all commercial activities from March 4. According to the rule, all business activities in the country must be closed between 8pm to 5am until March 20.

The Municipality also urged citizens and residents to report any violations by commercial activities by calling toll free number 1111.
Oman’s total coronavirus cases touched 142,896 including 1583.
