MUSCAT: The Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour is planning to start evening courts to settle labour related disputes.

Dr. Yousuf bin Salem Al Falaiti, Head of the General Administration for Planning at the Administrative Affairs Council said discussions by relevant authorities are in progress “In cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, there will be evening courts to look into labour disputes, and very soon we will launch,” Al Falaiti said.

According to Al Fataiti, both citizens and expatriates need to wait for a longer period of time to get a verdict pronounced in cases involving labour issued. “This will minimise the time and the cases will be settled faster,” he added.
