MUSCAT: Institutional quarantine is mandatory even for those travellers who have taken the Covid—19 vaccine, a top Ministry of Health official said on Thursday.
Dr. Saif Al Abri, Director General of Infectious Disease and Surveillance said there are no exemptions for those taken the vaccine prior to their travel. “Institutional quarantine is still mandatory for those who have received the vaccine, and there is no exemption at the present time,” he said.
Al Abri informed that teachers are among the target groups when the vaccine is available in sufficient quantities. “For now the main goal for the government is to vaccinate the elderly,” he added.
