MUSCAT: WhatsApp is the most popular social media app in Oman, with 92 percent people are using the messaging service, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
YouTube is the next most popular with 81 percent, followed by Facebook with 56 percent.
According to the report, 46 percent of people use IMO, while 44 percent use Instagram in Oman. Only 25 percent of people use Twitter in the country.

Snapchat and LinkedIn are the least popular form of social media are, with 24 percent and 10 percent respectively.
According to the Ministry, WhatsApp is used mostly by the age group of 18 and above.
