MUSCAT: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in cooperation with Saud Bahwan Automotive Group has issued safety recall notice for Toyota Hiace vans.
In a statement issued, CPA said as part of the safety campaign, 597 Toyota Hiace models from 2017 to 2020 based on chassis numbers from JTFHS02PXM010875) to JTGSS22PXJ0172436 have been recalled.
“The recall came due to incorrect programming of the electronic engine control unit, which leads to the possibility that the stability control system and the traction control system did not work correctly, and therefore the company will reprogram the electronic control unit of the engine,” CPA said in a statement.
