MUSCAT: Officials at Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology held a meeting to discuss the replacement and settlement plans and the challenges they face in employing Omanis in telecommunications and Information Technology.
According to sources, the officials discussed the government’s plans to Omanise some jobs in this sector.
Sheikh Nasr Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour highlighted the challenges the ministry faced in the field of replacement in some private sector establishments. He also spoke about the growth of transport, communications and IT sector during COVID—19 pandemic. “This enabled us to identity the sector as the most important and we are looking to bring in legislation needed for this sector,” he added.
