OCCI chairman meets four ministers to discuss challenges facing private sector in Oman

MUSCAT : His Excellency Redha bin Jumah Al Salih, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) met four ministers to discuss the challenges facing the private sector.

According to information received, Al Salih met Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, Dr. Said bin Mohammad Al-Saqri, Minister of Economy, Qais bin Muhammad Al-Youssef, Minister of Commerce , Industry and Investment Promotion, and Dr. Mahad bin Said Baouin, Minister of Labour.

The meeting discussed the efforts made by government agencies to support the private sector and empower national cadres in light of the economic and financial conditions the Sultanate is going through and the impact of the pandemic and the accompanying precautionary measures on the activity of the economic sectors.

“The visions and proposals submitted to protect and support the private sector in light of the current economic and health conditions, and mechanisms for constructive cooperation between government agencies related to economic work, which would regulate the labour market and develop and enhance the role of private sector institutions,” the statement from OCCI said.
