MUSCAT : Starting today (February 15), all passengers arriving in Oman must undergo 7-days mandatory institutional quarantine, Government Communicate Center (GC) has informed.
As previously reported by The Arabian Stories, passengers can pre-book any hotels at their own expense or choose the hotels listed by the competent authorities for the institutional quarantine.
The decision to impose institutional isolation on travellers comes due to the lack of compliance to home quarantine, and in the wake of rising coronavirus cases.

Several travel agents in the country are offering hotel stay for the mandatory quarantine including food. “We are getting many calls from passengers who are looking at various hotel options. We advise travellers to book the hotel stay first before taking the flight ticket,” said Reena Abdulrahman, Chief Operating Officer at Al Hind Travel and Tours. According to Reena, most of the calls are from passengers staying in India. “Al Hind has over 120 branches in India and we are getting calls mostly from that destination to book for hotels. Our hotel offer rates starts at OMR 95 rials for 7 nights,” she added.
To end the quarantine period, travellers must conduct a PCR test on the eighth day, provided the test result is negative.
