MUSCAT : Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Taimour bin Asa’ad al-Said, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), today presided over a ceremony for the announcement of results of His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for Youth 2019 and the handing over of prizes to winners of Youth Excellence Award 2020. The ceremony was attended by HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al-Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth. 

Ahli Sidab Club were crowned champions of His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for Youth 2019. Salalah Club took second place, followed by A’Seeb, Al Nasr, Ibri, Al Salam, Dhofar, Al Bashayer, Sohar and Saham. 

Thirty-eight clubs participated in the Youth Excellence Contest 2020. As many as 107 registered under the three categories of the Prize, which were “Individuals” category (53 contestants), “Youth Initiatives” category (34 contestants) and “Youth Establishments” category (20 contestants). The competition covered nine sub-divisions of entrepreneurship, education, media, culture, sciences, sports, heritage, environment and labour.

The results of the contest in the three categories were as follows:

1.   Individuals Category:

–  Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Ma’amari (Media field),

–  Abdulaziz bin Hamdan al-Kalbani (Environment field),

–  Salim bin Khamis al-Jadidi (Heritage field),

–  Mohammed bin Khalfan al-Issa’ee (Education field),

–  Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al-Rowas (Culture field),

–  Rashid bin Saif al-Hinai (Sports field),

–  Omar bin Abdullah al-Maskari (Science field),

–  Shatha bint Abdullah al-Jabria (Entrepreneurship field).

2.   Youth Initiatives Category:

–  “Law Network” initiative (Media field),

–  “Al Asma eco-friendly” initiative (Environment field),

–  “Eternal Achievements” initiative (Heritage field),

–  “Invest Yourself” electronic initiative (Education field),

–  “Qumra 5th Photography Week” initiative (Culture field),

–  “Sports is our Ethics” initiative (Sports field),

–  “Omani Expo” initiative (Science field)

3.   Youth Establishments Category:

–  “We Deserve All” Establishment (Media field, YouTube incubator),

–  “Salickoon (We are managing)” Establishment (Education field),

–  “Quiz (munadharat) Development Centre” Establishment (Culture field),

–  “Swift Confrontation (Al Tahaddi Al Sareea) Establishment (Sports field),

–  “Dawam Platform” Establishment (Labour field),

–  “Injaz Oman” Establishment (Entrepreneurship field).
