MUSCAT: Nearly 60,000 Omani citizens employed in the government sector receive salaries between OMR 1,000 and OMR 2,000, according to the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
In the latest figures released on Sunday, NCSI said Omanis earning OMR 700 and less than OMR 800 reached 37,816, while the number of those earning between OMR 800 and less than OMR 900 reached 30,276 thousand citizens. “Regarding the wages, 59,205 Omanis receive between OMR 1,000 and OMR 2,000, constituting the largest segment of Omanis working in the public sector,” NCSI said.
According to NCSI, 19,935 Omani citizens receive salaries between OMR 600 to less than OMR 700, and 18,720 employees receive Salaries between OMR 325 and less than OMR 400, while those earning OMR 500 to less than OMR 600 reached 16,735.

Meanwhile the total number of Omanis registered in the public sector pension funds, including civil service, the Diwan of Royal Court, and the Central Bank Oman until the end of September 2020 is 197,489.
