MUSCAT: After a gap of seven months public transport buses today returned to the roads of Oman bringing a semblance of normalcy and providing much needed relief to commuters.
The Supreme Committee decided to resume public transport services with precautionary measures starting from September 27 in a phased manner.
On Sunday, intercity bus services began between governorates of the Sultanate (except Muscat-Salalah route), while city bus services will begin on October 4. “Return of city bus services in Salalah will resume on October 18,” Mwasalat said in a statement.
Bus service in the entire country had come to a halt in March in view of the pandemic.
