MUSCAT: A trial to test the operational readiness of Muscat International Airport began on Friday ahead of the normal operations that will begin on October 1.

The Oman Airports authorities had invited 150 volunteers among Omani Nationals as well as expatriate residents to take part in the trial.

The trial will have the full passenger arrival process including registration, immigration, COVID-19 PCR tests (nasal swabs), and exit through the baggage claim hall.

“The trial of the operational return has been continuing since the morning in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and officials of CAA,” Oman Airports said in a statement.
