MUSCAT: Expatriates who are overstaying even after the expiry of their work permits are exempted from paying fines, provided they depart the country permanently, Ministry of Labour said.
In a statement issued as part of announcing relief packages for private sector companies in the wake of Covid-19, the Ministry said the regulation is valid until the end of the year.
“Expat workers will be exempted from paying fees and fines resulting from work permits for non-Omani manpower, provided that they leave the Sultanate for good,” the Ministry said.
