MUSCAT: Private sector companies in Oman can seek assistance of employees working in other establishments provided a written agreement is signed between the employers, the Ministry of Labour said on Wednesday.

“Private sector establishments may seek the assistance of manpower belonging to other establishments to work in their facilities, provided a written agreement is signed between the establishments,” Ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, multiple companies owned by the same partners “may delegate their employees to work in any of those establishments when necessary.”

Visa fee renewal relief

The Ministry also said it will reduce visa renewal fees for expat work permits starting “from its date until the end of December 2020, with the fees becoming OMR 201 instead of OMR 301.”

The Ministry announced a series of relief packages following directives from the Supreme Committee in the wake of coronavirus pandemic in the country.
