MUSCAT: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has not issued any directions to stop allowing residents holding some job titles from entering the country, the Government Communication Centre (GC) has confirmed.
A note that said residents holding certain job titles including housemaid, farmer, laundry worker, welder and carpenter are not allowed to enter the Sultanate. This was doing the rounds on social media over the last few weeks. However, in a statement issued on Monday, GC refuted the rumour.
“There is no truth to what is being circulated about Oman preventing certain job titles from entering the country. We would like to clarify that this was not issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the statement added.
