His Majesty Sultan Haitham meets Supreme Committee members

MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik chaired a meeting with the members of the Supreme Committee charged with dealing with the developments resulting from the spread of COVID-19 in Salalah on Thursday.

In a statement issued by Oman News Agency (ONA) said His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and its multiple effects on various sectors. His Majesty affirmed that the government’s priority has always been aimed at protecting citizens and residents from contracting the virus.
 
”His Majesty was briefed on the developments of the pandemic and the increasing number of infections at the local and global levels, in addition to the scientific developments aimed at finding a vaccine to prevent the infection,” ONA said in a statement.

“His Majesty was also briefed about the epidemiological situation of this pandemic in the Sultanate and the great efforts made to contain it by the health sector, and His Majesty affirmed that the health sector will receive more support to enable it to continue to perform the noble roles assigned to it,” ONA said.
 
His Majesty the Sultan also stressed the need for all public and private institutions to follow innovative methods that balances health necessities.
 
“At the end of the meeting, His Majesty expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the institutions that are dealing with this pandemic in the Sultanate, stressing that the government will continue to confront the pandemic in various ways” the statement from ONA added.
