MUSCAT: Indian community in Oman reacted to the shocking death of popular artist Unni on Saturday.

Fondly known as “Artist Unni”, the 50-year-old gifted artist was found dead at his home in Muscat.

Speaking to The Arabian Stories, several Indian community members in Oman expressed their sorrow and disbelief at Unni’s passing away. “It’s hard to believe he is no more. I have known him as someone who is seen smiling always. The cultural and social community in Oman will dearly miss him,” said P.M. Jabir, Social Welfare Secretary at Indian Social Club (ISC).

“It’s heartbreaking to hear about Unni’s death. He was such a gifted artist and a great social worker. He was always there in every cultural event. He was passionate about what he did particularly in art. His charisma was in his extraordinary smile. We will miss him,” said Dr. Babysam Samuel, Chairman of Board of Directors of Indians Schools in Oman.

Unni hailed from Chavakadu in Kerala was also a skilled graphic designer.
