MUSCAT: Oman’s confirmed coronavirus cases dropped to 17% from 50% at the beginning of July.

The total Covid-19 cases in the country stands at 86,380, while there only 3,847 active cases. The inpatients also decreased by 33%, while the intensive care decreased by 40% and the mortality rate dropped by 23%.

“From now on, we will rely on 3 indicators when monitoring the epidemic, which are the number of inpatients, the number of intensive care cases and deaths per 1,00,000 of the population. We will not be relying on the number of daily examinations, this procedure is applied in many countries,” said Dr. Saif Al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control.
