No country can claim the pandemic is over, says Oman’s Minister of Health

MUSCAT: His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Oman’s Minister of Health has reminded the public that “no country can claim the pandemic is over”.

The total coronavirus cases in the country stands at 86,380, while 81,828 patients have recovered. The total deaths reached 705 on Thursday.

“The numbers began to decrease in the Sultanate since last July but there are several countries where the numbers reduced for a while but when the tourism, cultural and commercial activities were resumed, the numbers increased significantly, some countries were also forced to impose the total lockdown again.” Al Saidi said.

“No country can claim or pretend that the pandemic is over and that the virus is in decline,” he added.
