MUSCAT: The Supreme Committee on Tuesday confirmed that the coronavirus infection rate in the country has significantly reduced.
In a statement issued, the SC, however, said the hospital occupancy and intensive care unite patients rate are still high.
The committee has stressed the importance of adhering to the preventive measures including wearing masks, physical distancing and maintaining hand hygiene.

In its meeting, the Supreme Committee also reviewed a number of topics related to the effects of the pandemic in various fields and directed the competent authorities to study them so that appropriate decisions are taken on them at a later time.
The Supreme Committee confirmed that all its decisions are based on the epidemiological data of the pandemic while minimizing its negative effects on various sectors as possible.
